- Oh I love seeing Amigas used in TV programs..It`s always a buzz to
- see a 1942 monitor sitting there and knowing that an Amiga is
- generating the display. Anyway, this is just what happens in ITV`s
- new TV drama series `Call Red`. I first thought I`d seen an Amiga
- display when they were running trailers for the show and now that
- I have seen the program I know for sure that it was definetely the
- Amiga I saw.
- They have a number of 1942`s set up in the control room (the show
- is about an airbourne medical rescue team), and a special control
- system used for receiving details about emergency calls made.
- As soon as you see the display you cant help noticing the Topaz
- font used which is a major giveaway, and it has a very familar
- feel to it. They also use one of the displays to run a medical
- simulator program where people can perform operations on screen.
- It all looks pretty impressive. Oh and you sometimes see a screen
- blanker which has little helicoptors flying across the screen..I want
- this blanker.. :)))
- Anyway, it`s great to see a program which uses the Amiga like this
- and is really the only reason I watch this program, oh and for
- the gorgeous female Doctor (Allie Bryne I think ) ;>
-
- Oh and talking about Amigas on TV, did anyone catch Beadles Hotshots
- on Saturday (yes I know!!)..One video was made by a guy who Beadle
- said enjoyed playing about with Camcorders and Computers. He had done
- a warping animation of his son and animated it to music. It looked like
- something done with Morph Plus and had that distinctive Amiga video output
- feel to it. He also did an animation of Beadles head being distorted
- or something and I laughed when I heard the Pot Black music module being
- played on top of it...
-
- Yep, this is all pretty sad, but there is just something great about
- seeing Amigas featured on TV...It`s just something that PC owners
- can never understand... ;>>>
